Xavier Pelleuf

Introspective songsmith from around the world; Nick Drake meets Michael Nesmith meets great wide open western desert -- these are both good starting points when describing Xavier Pelleuf (also know as XP). In reality, this was a solo project from singer/songwriter Scott Meiggs. While living in Charlottesville, VA Meiggs created an outlet outside his band Sunday Smoke Kit. A simple approach, acoustic and electric guitars, a voice and many songs filled with a collection memories. His debut LP in 1999 "A Slowfade of Silver" met with rave reviews, many calling it "A shy school boy of a record." The follow up picked up where "Silver" left off. Ever growing in songwriting approach, Meiggs crafted together a fine LP titled "A Bad Night For Stars," which finally saw it's release in 2003. A collarboration with fellow Planting Seeds artist Alex Sharkey (Pinkie) on the revamped track "Fourth of July" (original version appears on "Stars") was released on the spectacular compilation "Sunsets & Silhouettes."
